It is old news that Instagram has changed the nature of how amateur, professional photographers and the public make and share photography. For many, it is just one of a number of social handles for daily visual communication. For others, however, it has become an intentioned instrument for making serious, thoughtful bodies of work. In group show #40, we will showcase projects created exclusively on Instagram and explore the following questions: How has Instagram changed the way photographers articulate the world around them? How has Instagram influenced or affected their artistic practice? How can the #selfie be explored in new and untapped ways?
