• Submission Opportunities •
We accept submissions for our online group shows, blog features, Instagram features, and Instagram Group Shows on an ongoing basis. Instagram takeovers are currently on hold, but we’re always looking to feature individual images on our IG.
Please note - our open call are not “juried exhibitions,” “contests” or “competitions” - they are opportunities to get your work seen and curated around a specific idea.
Let’s get away from the blue ribbon medal and stop using those words.
Our online group shows run quarterly-ish online and occasionally expand into books + IRL exhibitions. Have you seen Humble Cats or our latest book, On Death?
TIME Magazine included On Death in their best books of 2019, and it now lives lovingly in MoMa’s book collection.
Join our mailing list to get the skinny (but also follow us on Instagram and be the first to know.)
•Write for Humble•
We're a non-profit with ZERO budget (notice the zero advertisements on our website.)
Like a high school literary magazine, it's an absolute labor of love. That said, we welcome interview, profile, and story pitches with open arms. Please email us using the subject line "Humble Pitch," and include a few lines about what you’d like to write and a link to examples of your writing.
•Humble Instagram•
Wanna get featured on Humble's 47K+ follower Instagram feed? Tag 'em #HAFTAKEOVER, @humbleartsfoundation, or #HUMBLEWEEKDAYZ, #HUMBLEWEEKENDZ, and/or #HUMBLEARTSFOUNDATION
• Blog Feature Guidelines •
Being featured on our blog has helped artists get featured in larger magazines, solo exhibitions in major galleries, and other accolades we couldn't be happier about influencing (tho we try to stay "Humble" when boasting about it.)
To submit for a blog feature, email us:
– Five (5) photographs
– 1200 pixels on the longest side (72dpi, sRGB)
– 50-word project/work statement in the body of your email (written in the third person.)
– 50-word artist bio in the body of your email
– Website link (if applicable)
– Link to your Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Please keep in mind we receive a ridiculous amount of submissions so response time may be slow.
All submissions can be sent to submit {AT} hafny {dot} org
We do not accept Word, PDF, or zipped files.
Due to the high volume, we will only respond to submissions that we plan to feature.
We’re sorry and human. Please don’t be mad.
Thanks in advance for sharing your work with us.
