Numerology is a belief in the spiritual or mystical relationship between numbers and coinciding events. It’s also the study of the numerical value of letters in words, names and ideas, and can have astrological and paranormal implications.

In a culture increasingly obsessed with data and quantification, numerology takes on new meaning and possibility. For Humble’s final online exhibition of 2018, we’d love to see your photos dealing with numbers and their limitless metaphorical tangents.

Last year, the American Northeast experienced record snowfalls, and climate change seems to be on most of our minds. Winter can brutal, it can be beautiful, it can be a mysterious mix. For Humble Arts Foundation's first open call of 2016, we want to see your photographs representing winter - literally, abstractly, or somewhere in between. Show us your vision of a cold, cold world, and don't be afraid to get crazy. Inspired by Andy Adams' annual "Winter Pictures" calls in previous years, we're partnering with FlakPhoto, and invited Andy to co-curate this exhibition with Humble's co-founder Jon Feinstein. The group show will be featured on Humble's website and we'll feature select images on Instagram @HumbleArtsFoundation and @FlakPhoto in late February, 2016.

NASA recently released new high-resolution photographs of Pluto and its largest moon, Charon, unveiling images its spacecraft New Horizons had uncovered at the solar system's far out regions. As we get closer to understanding worlds beyond, outer space continues to be an abstract mystery, ripe with metaphor and science fiction...and naturally, photographic interpretation. With this move into new frontiers, for Humble Arts Foundation's next online exhibition, we want to see your vision of outer space. Abstraction, appropriation, strange narratives, and if you somehow broke through the atmosphere and "documented" your travels, we'd love to see those too.
