Bios
Peter Gates has a photography practice concerned with the poetry of the everyday. He is interested in the landscape, and detail, around which the endless cycle of domestic drama unfolds.
Garret Miller was born in New York, in late winter of 1983. He is currently an MFA candidate at the ICP- Bard program.
Louise Ingalls Sturges is a New Jersey born, Brooklyn based photographer, painter and blogger.
Alex Kisilevich is a photo-based artist living and working in Toronto, Canada. He is currently completing his MFA at York University.
Sean Ellingson was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He studied photography at the Art Institute of Seattle and later completed his BFA in 2008 at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Maury Gortemiller is currently a Lecturer of Photography at the University of North Carolina-Asheville. He is also a competitive apneist, and plans to make an attempt on the breath-holding world record by the end of fiscal year 2010.
Elina Ruka was born in 1981 in Latvia, received her BFA in Photography from Ecoles de Condé in France. She now lives in New York.
Greg Wasserstrom earned a BA in political science from American University in 2007. Based in Brooklyn, NY, he is a writer, photographer and amateur historian. His series USA! USA! examines 21st century American-ness.
Megan Cump received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, BA from Macalester College, and attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She has been awarded two MacDowell Colony fellowships and an L.M.C.C. Workspace fellowship.
Paul Mpagi Sepuya is a Brooklyn-based artist currently completing an LMCC Workspace Residency 2009-2010 and will be an artist-in-residence at the Center for Photography in Woodstock this June.
Alex Segreti was born in Chicago, IL, in 1979. He received his BFA in photography from Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute in 2009. Currently, Alex is based in New York City, where he resides in Queens.
Bjarne Bare was born in Pozan in 1985. He currently lives and works in Oslo.
Charlie Engman was born and raised outside of Chicago and has recently graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Japanese and Korean Studies. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn.
Kelli Pennington grew up in Southern Maryland. She currently lives in Syracuse and is in her final semester of Graduate School.
Laura Noel lives in the South and explores ideas about individuality, cultural symbols of love and violence in the American landscape and how words and images can be used to explore meaning in everyday life.
Mark Likosky shoots for an ad agency in San Francisco. He attended art school in Boston and worked as a photographer in New York.
Clayton Cotterell is a photographer and teacher based in Brooklyn. He received his MFA in Photography, Video, and Related Media from School of Visual Arts in 2008. During that time he was a recipient of the Aaron Siskind Memorial Award.
Sandy Carson, born in 1972, is a Scottish documentary and fine arts photographer, who has spent almost half his life in the USA scrutinizing and documenting his surroundings with satire.
