Bios

Andres Gonzalez is a photographer based in Istanbul, Turkey.

Besides being a photographer, Bahar Yurukoglu is also an animal lover, amateur historian, and enjoys walking. Her name means springtime in Turkish. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Elizabeth Weinberg is a portrait and documentary photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been published in SPIN, Giant, Mass Appeal, Alarm, and more.

Cortney Andrews received her BFA in photography & new media from the Kansas City Art Institute and her MFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Sandra Rivi was born in 1982, and has lived in Paris since.

David B. Smith lives and works in Brooklyn and recently completed an MFA in advanced photographic studies at Bard/ICP. He works with a wide variety of mediums including photography, video, sculpture, drawing, sound, and installation. He has shown widely in New York and has an upcoming solo show at HQ gallery in March, 2009. He has also shown nationally and internationally in places such as Washington, DC, Chicago, Germany, and Beijing.

Jennifer Layzer’s work has been shown at Projects Gallery in Philadelphia and Mount Ida College in Newton, MA. She holds a BFA in photography from Maryland Institute College of Art. Lives and works in Boston.

T.J. was born in St. Paul, MN and graduated from MICA in 2008. Proechel has several bodies of work, Sparrows Point, Foreclosure, and Baltimore Murder, each with a different approach to landscape.

Born a wanderer and observer, Erik Boker distilled interests in visual arts througfh the camera while adventuring through Asia. He did an undergrad anthropology thing and later a post-undergrad fine art thing. His work has been shown in galleries in Taipei, Vienna, Los Angeles, and Toronto. He is currently exploring new places and residing in the drift, and looking for clients and commissions.

Gideon Barnett was born in Jasper, TN and received a BA from Columbia College Chicago.

Jens Windolf was born in 1967 in Cologne, Germany and has lived in Cologne, Paris, Marseille, Bruxelles, Berlin, and now in Hamburg as a graphic designer; took up photography in 2008.

Kristoffer Tripplaar is a Washington, DC based photojournalist and graduate of the Corcoran College of Art. He covers everything from the White House to odd and wacky Americana.

Kimberlee Venable attended Cleveland Institute of Art where she received her BFA in photography, working primarily in large format. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

Leah Oates has a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Oates currently resides and works in Brooklyn, NY. Oates has had 11 solo shows at venues including Real Art Ways, A4L Gallery, A Taste of Art Gallery, Sara Nightingale Gallery, Henry Street Settlement and the Sol Mednick Gallery at the Philadelphia University of the Arts.

Ryan Barone lives and works in Rochester, NY.

Vinny Picardi started his career at age 15 using his Dad’s 35MM camera.

Nina Young was born and raised in NYC and makes frequent trips to Puerto Rico and Stockholm. As a result, she’s been exposed to beautiful natural environments and gentle urban ones that sometimes make their way into her photographs. Nina received her MFA in photography, video, and related media in 2005. She is a full-time professor at CUNY City College of Technology.
