Bios

Matthew Albanese, born 1983, earned his BFA (concentration photography) from Purchase College. His work has been exhibited at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, New Century gallery in NYC, Leslie/Lohman Foundation, and published online by Humble Arts Foundation. His personal studio is located in Clifton, NJ and he currently freelances as an architectural and aerial photographer in NYC.

Martin Batalles was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1981. Still lives there. Usually works with Gabriela Costoya. They have recently exhibited their work together.

Alexander Binder, born 1976, is a photographic autodidact living in the Black Forest/Germany. He developed his own technique which combines digital cameras with self-made pinhole and acrylic lenses.

Sandy Carson, born 1972, spent 20 cold years in Scotland and then 15 hot ones in the USA. He still has a thick Scottish accent and currently calls Austin, TX home.

Anna Krachey was born in Nashua, NH. She received an MFA in Photography from the University of Texas in Austin (2008). Upcoming shows include New American Talent 23 at Arthouse Texas, and The Fifth of July, at Okay Mountain Gallery in Austin, TX. Krachey resides in Austin.

Adam Lampton is a recipient of a 2006-07 William J. Fulbright fellowship to Macau, SAR, China and a finalist for a 2007 Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Grant. He lives in Boston.

Calvin Lee is a conceptual-based photographer born 1983 in Boston, MA. He received his BFA in visual & critical studies and photography from School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 2007 and is currently pursuing his MFA in photography & media at California Institute of the Arts. He lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.

Nicole Lloyd was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography. During her time at SVA, she was mentored by award-winning photographers Elinor Carucci and Dana Hoey and trained extensively with Julie Pochron in traditional C-printing. Shortly after graduation, Nicole moved to Los Angeles where she currently resides and continues to enthusiastically pursue her fine art career while also producing and curating art shows involving both local and international talent.

Billie Mandle recently finished her MFA at Massachusetts College of Art and lives in Brooklyn.

Louis Perreault is a young photographer living and working in Montreal, Canada. He graduated from Dawson College (professional photography) in 2005 and from Concordia University (BFA) in 2007. His work deals with notions of place, nature and wilderness. l

Cydney Puro was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA. Currently she lives and works in Paris. She graduated from Bard College with a BA in photography in 2005, and is on her way, camera in hand, to Paris in the fall.

Jody Rogac obtained a BFA in photography in 2006, has since been shooting professionally: Monocle, Rolling Stone, and Nixon Watches.

Will Sanders was born in 1971 and is self taught. He’s shot for numerous magazines including Exit, Amelia’s magazine, Nylon, Intersection, Oyster, W magazine, Esquire and the Guardian Weekend. His work has also been published in the Creative Review Annual and the British Journal of Photography. He spends his free time traveling and taking photos.

Rebecca Smeyne is a Brooklyn-based documentary photographer best known for her music-related work in Spin and the Village Voice.

Rafael Soldi was born in 1987 in Lima, Peru. At age 15 he moved to the United States, where he currently resides. Rafael will receive a BFA in photography with a concentration in curatorial studies from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2009.

Brea Souders was born in Maryland in 1978 and has resided in NYC for the past 3 years. She is currently working on a series called Time Between, which explores various superstitions culled from old texts, internet forums, and word of mouth.

Bethany Souza is a Floridian expatriate currently living in frigid Chicago, IL. She received a BA in studio art from the University of South Florida in 2000, and an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago in 2007. She is currently an adjunct photography instructor at Columbia College Chicago and at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL.

Laura Valenti is Program Director at the Newspace Center for Photography in Portland, OR. She also teaches photography at Newspace and leads Portlanders on wacky photo field trips.
