This is one of the most original and creative zine projects I know of, The Holster runs a print-on-demand style project called “Demand & Supply.” I’ve seen this happen a few times; at book fairs these guys bring a laser jet printer, paper, a stapler, and a bone folder and wait for someone to order a zine. When you order your zine, they print it out and bind it for you within about 10 minutes. I got this zine at the NYC Zine Fest last summer and have since been really impressed by it. I love both the idea behind the creation of the zine, but equally as much enjoy this work. The work that seems to be chosen for these zines has a kind of ambiguity that lends itself to smaller books, where each image is crucial to shaping the overall theme.
