Justin James Reed – Don’t Die

Justin James Reed just recently published this small, limited artist book coinciding with a solo show in Philadelphia. I’ve known Justin’s work for a while and these new images are definitely a departure from his past work. His sensibility and formality remains, though, but his take on subject matter has changed from desolate landscapes to a much more still-life and interior working method. There is still the unique amount of distance from his old work that is coming through in this new work for me. I really enjoy the images and how the book is put together. There is no text at all in the book and it is printed very well. I’m excited to have this and am looking forward to what is next.
