Since we re-launched the site, Humble has received quite a few emails about our programs. If Clint Eastwood were to read these (eyes squinted, smoking a cigarette, of course) and asked to categorize them based on his popular film, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, here’s what we imagine would be his top picks.
The Good: Your site simply gets better and better. Thank you for your work.
The Bad:
Subject line: “Not humbled by Humble”
It was recommended to me a few years ago that I check out what The Humble Foundation (sic) was doing with modern (sic) photography, and I have to say, ever since I have followed you guys, I am consistently disappointed in how blah and un-innovative your photographers are… Humble is not the only institution [that] helps perpetuate the same style of photography over and over again… I appreciate that there is a foundation such as yours to assist artists with grants and shows, but there has GOT to be something else out there. I’m sure more interesting things are being sent in, and yet your curators and all the photo big-wigs in the industry keep choosing the same monotonous looking stuff, and it has got to stop! …. Thank you for your time.
The Ugly: Once again, isn’t it time for a “31 over 31” show? This theme, and the practice of ignoring anyone OVER 31 is getting pretty irritating, to tell you the truth.
Thank you to everyone who wrote in. We consider all opinions and do take them seriously. We may edit for length if necessary.
